Edubilla Latest News

In alliance with the Institute of Technical Education (Singapore), the Skill Development Ministry has decided to set up the Indian Institute of Skills. The country’s first Indian Institute of Skills was dedicated to the public of India, by the laying of the foundation stone, by Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister, just before delivering his speech at a rally in Kanpur, in the state of Uttar Pradesh. The idea of such an institute was conceived by the Prime Minister when he visited Singapore's Institute of Technical Education.

The Press Information Bureau (PIB) stated in its report that this institute will have best practices inspired from the Singapore Institute, including its mode of training. A proposal has been made by the Union ministry to set up six such institutes across the country. A major part of the onus has been given to the state governments in implementing the scheme successfully.
